SAP-PP implementation

Together with the key users we created first a blueprint as a result of workshops and also by checking the former software solution. Then we build a prototype to get an fit/gap analyse. By this we decided, where and what to change within the SAP standard. This included for instance the product configuration and the automatic generation of sales order bill of materials. We also hade to make changes within the change management and create programms for the data-migration of master data and also production orders. After all, we setup some classrooms and trained the users. Finally we did some go-live support.
Because of a shorage in manpower the customer decided, not to go with the SAP standard, but to develop within the product configuration his own transaction. This was done by Carsten Rolf (Bilutions) and as an interface to the SAP standard a sales order bill of materials was generated. By that the standard requirement planning was done (MRP). Because of changes within the sales order and the configuration - thats common in this industry - several revisions of this sales order bill of material could be generated. To get the differences between two versions, the user could run a BOM comparison and if already for some assembly parts the procurement already was executed, he could generate a special production order to remodel the specific parts. Further on the returned parts of this production order were treated by SAP-QM inspections to achieve a usage decision.
