The task

The preventive and reactive maintenance of production resources should be planned and executed by SAP-PM funcionalities to guarentee the needed availibility of production capacities.

The solution

First we recorded the customers requirements. Then we started to customize the system and build a protoype for each process (preventive / reactive maintenance).
We also trained the key users within the available functionalities: master data like equipments, company structures, maintenance schedules, maintenance strategies, maintenance orders, maintenance history on equipments. The process flow was a standard one: Each equipment is assigned to a maintenace strategy, which determines on timely and/or quantity aspects when a maintenance order has to be created. The planning itsself is done by a scheduled job. The created order consists of needed production resources like measurement tools etc. and also spareparts, which can be procured to be available in time.
